C. R. McCally & AssociatesSince 1909 · Four Generations
Heritage

A McCally family tradition since 1909.

Four generations in the mechanical trades. This is the history the operating judgment came from.

  • 1909 · Great-Grandfather
The trade begins. Rick's great-grandfather went into plumbing and heating in 1909 — before air conditioning existed as a trade. A craft passed hand to hand on the job, not taught in a classroom.
  • Second Generation · Grandfather
Service, then back to the trade. Rick's grandfather served in the Navy during World War II before returning to the business. The family line runs service, trade, then enterprise.
  • Third Generation · Father
The company grows into commercial and industrial work across North Texas — plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, process piping, and medical gas systems. Rick became a partner alongside his father and brother in September 1983.
  • Fourth Generation · Rick McCally
In the field at age ten. Partner at twenty-four. Went on to own and operate the firm for twenty years — 250 employees and more than $300 million in total contract responsibility — and was the first in the family business to earn a college degree.

What the family firm built

Over four generations the McCally firm performed commercial and industrial mechanical work across North Texas — new construction and service alike. Those capabilities are recorded here as history.

C. R. McCally & Associates no longer performs contracting, service, or equipment rental work. Today the practice is construction claims consulting, expert testimony, and executive operating partnership.

Four generations of the McCally family together: Rick's father, Rick, his son, and his grandson.
Four generations in one room. Rick's father, Rick, his son, and his grandson — the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth. Rick's father has since passed away.
Why It Matters

A century of trade is not a marketing line.

It is the reason the operating instinct is there. Rick has installed the pipe, priced the change order, run the shop, sat on the owner's selection committee, and explained all three to a jury. Very few people have held every one of those seats. Fewer still learned the first one at ten years old.

Rick was the first in the family business to earn a college degree. His father and grandfather went to work straight out of high school.
